FAQs
We operate an emergency dispatch network standard. Our team targets a 45-minute response time to establish contact and mobilize crews to your door. Emergency units are dispatched fully equipped to initiate immediate mitigation protocols to minimize secondary property degradation.
Your immediate safety is the top priority. For Water Damage or Flooding, locate your property’s main water shut-off valve and turn it off immediately if it is safe to do so. For Fire or Smoke Damage, exit the property immediately; do not attempt to wipe down walls or touch soot-covered surfaces, as natural skin oils can permanently bind soot to materials. For all losses, do not turn on any electrical appliances or HVAC systems until our team has verified that the electrical and ventilation networks are safe.
This depends entirely on the nature and classification of the loss. Structural fires, severe sewage backups (Category 3 grey/black water), or advanced mold infestations introduce airborne pathogens, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and particulate hazards. Our certified technicians conduct an initial on-site safety evaluation to determine if part or all of the property needs to be temporarily evacuated.
All mitigation, cleaning, and restoration work performed by JOVE strictly adheres to the international IICRC Standards (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification). These standards dictate exact scientific guidelines for moisture mapping, thermal imaging, psychological safety, and sanitization.
Property restoration requires specific, verifiable labor tracking for both transparency and insurance audit purposes. Our technicians track standard on-site hours as well as essential off-site time required for project completion, which includes localized transit/travel to the loss site, equipment loading, specialized tool setup, shop prep, and required hazardous waste disposal.
For complete accountability, our project managers maintain verified daily timesheets and capture photographic logs of our crews operating on-site. This ensures that the labor billed matches the physical crew presence and the technical scope required by your property’s specific damage profile.
If your personal items (contents) are impacted, they undergo a specialized “Contents Restoration” process. We itemize, photograph, and catalog your belongings before carefully packing and moving them to a secure, climate-controlled facility. There, they are cleaned, sanitized, deodorized using advanced ultrasonic or ozone technologies, and safely stored until the reconstruction phase of your property is complete.
No, JOVE operates on a no price match guarantee framework. Because we operate strictly under industry-standard pricing schedules (like Xactimate) and maintain uncompromised, fully certified structural safety procedures, we do not discount or alter our pricing structures to match third-party or uncertified competitors.
Yes. If authorized via our digital signature or work authorization forms, you can explicitly grant us Claim Submission Authorization. This allows our administrative team to file a new claim for the loss directly with your insurance provider, accelerating the deployment of resources and streamlining early documentation submission.
A signed Work Authorization Form is a legal prerequisite that establishes our permission to enter your private property and deploy heavy machinery, structural drying equipment, or containment barriers. It authorizes us to execute emergency services to prevent further structural loss, outlines billing compliance, and protects your consumer rights.
All residential contracts executed with JOVE strictly comply with localized consumer protection regulations, including the Consumer Protection Act. Property owners retain a legal right to cancel the emergency service agreement within a designated statutory window (e.g., standard 10-day cooling-off windows where applicable under local provincial law), subject to coverage for any actual emergency labor and equipment mobilized to protect the property prior to cancellation.
Invoices, localized moisture readings, thermal imaging records, and comprehensive photo reports are typically finalized and released within 2 to 4 weeks of project completion. However, during periods of widespread catastrophic weather events or high regional demand, processing and review timelines may scale up to accommodate deep insurance validation audits.
Yes, through our Direct Pay Authorization system. By selecting this option on your onboarding paperwork, you authorize and instruct your insurance carrier to pay JOVE directly for all covered mitigation and structural services rendered. This takes you out of the middle of the payment cycle for all covered line items.
Under our standard Financial Responsibility policy, while we handle direct-carrier claims management, the ultimate financial liability for the services rendered sits with the property owner. If an insurance provider fails to fulfill their financial obligations, denies specific line items, or slashes coverage based on your specific policy limits, you remain responsible for settling the outstanding balance directly within our standard payment windows.
An insurance shortfall happens when an adjuster denies or alters specific emergency rates or labor items required to safely complete mitigation work to IICRC standards. Common causes include policy caps, pre-existing structural issues, or disputes over specific emergency service fees (like after-hours emergency calls or minimum labor block assignments). In these scenarios, the client pays the remaining balance out of pocket to cover the uncompromised work required to save the property.
In the event of an invoicing or scope-of-work dispute, Xactimate serves as our absolute standard for structural estimates and square-footage pricing. Pricing adjustments are calculated strictly based on verified physical project challenges, documented hazardous environment delays, site slowdowns, or unique structural complexities that directly impacted our technicians on the ground.
